December 1942. Julia, a young schoolteacher, watches powerlessly as her husband Paul, a resistant fighter, is arrested by the Gestapo. But when she falls passionately in love with André, a supporter of the collaborating French government, Julia is caught between her duty to her husband and the call of her heart.
